In these turbulant times in our country and our world, it is enlightening, to say the least, to know someone like Ray Vinson who, along with his friends, strives to make the world a better place. Ray Vinson and his dedicated crew of good Samaritans have worked for 25 years building ramps for those in need. Ray stated that his group is comprised of 10 to 15 guys who help regularly to try and build two ramps a month. According to Ray, “We do not charge for either materials or labor. We pay for the materials generally with money we donate ourselves. although occasionally we have received reimbursement via fedearal grants. Home Depot gives us some really good discounts and helps alot. I don’t really know where people get our names, we are not listed anywhere, but I almost always have a iist of 3 to 5 who have a need.”
The motto for Ray and his crew of ramp builders is “We make peoples lives better.” Ray stated that his group does not judge – “If there are beer cans everywhere and they drive a new car, that has nothing to do with the fact that someone in the house has a problem, and we can help make their lives better.
Hats off to Ray and his friends who give so generously of themselves and their resources to help others who are in need. They are among the army of folks who help others asking for no recognition or praise. There are definitely angels amony us. If you know of an angel that you would like for me to include in a blog post, pleaes send me an email to email@example.com.
